Tonight, as I sat in my living room surrounded by rows of soaps, each wrapped in different label iterations, I had a moment of reflection. Each label carries a small note on the back: "Handmade on Yugarabul Country in honour of my Indigenous ancestry". It's a quiet reminder of the land, the values, and the care that goes into every bar.
For the first time, I saw these soaps from a customer’s perspective—and it hit me. These aren’t just soaps. They are little gifts, little pieces of nature and heritage, handmade with care, intention, and love. There’s something profoundly honest and powerful in them. Something that carries the beauty of Mother Nature, and the spirit of my Great-Grandma Lily, whose story and connection to country inspire everything I do in this business.
I’ve been running Medika Organics for almost three years now, and I still marvel at the journey. Somehow, my little handmade business has been blessed with consistent growth, support, and connection. Every person who buys my soaps seems to feel that connection too—and for that, I am endlessly grateful. It’s a rare and beautiful feeling to know that something I create can bring joy, care, and a sense of something real into someone else’s life. That my work—pure, natural, organic, and handmade—can touch hearts, while also honouring the land I come from.
