Our Foundation Oils

ORGANIC VIRGIN COCONUT OIL

Coconut oil is predominantly composed of saturated fatty acids, with Lauric Acid making up about 50%. Other significant fatty acids include Myristic Acid and Capric Acid. Lauric Acid is renowned for its antimicrobial properties, which can help reduce acne-causing bacteria and promote wound healing. Myristic and Capric acids provide deep moisturisation, making coconut oil ideal for dry skin.

Benefits for the Skin:

• Lauric Acid: Antimicrobial properties help reduce acne and promote wound healing.
• Myristic Acid: Deeply moisturises and softens the skin.
• Capric Acid: Provides additional moisturisation and helps maintain the skin’s protective barrier.

COLD-PRESSED OLIVE OIL

Olive oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, particularly Oleic Acid (about 70-80%), along with Linoleic Acid. Oleic Acid helps to maintain the skin’s moisture balance, making it supple and smooth. Linoleic Acid, an essential fatty acid, strengthens the skin’s barrier function and reduces inflammation.

Benefits for the Skin:

• Oleic Acid: Deeply moisturises and nourishes the skin, improving softness and elasticity.
• Linoleic Acid: Strengthens the skin’s barrier, reduces inflammation, and helps to heal and repair damaged skin.

ORGANIC COCOA BUTTER

Cocoa butter is rich in saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids, including Oleic Acid and Stearic Acid. Stearic Acid acts as an emollient, softening and smoothing the skin, while Oleic Acid enhances skin elasticity.

Benefits for the Skin:

• Oleic Acid: Deeply hydrates and maintains skin elasticity.
• Stearic Acid: Softens and smooths the skin, providing a protective barrier.

COLD-PRESSED AVOCADO OIL

Avocado oil contains a balanced mix of monounsaturated fatty acids (Oleic Acid) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (Linoleic Acid and Linolenic Acid). This combination provides excellent moisturisation, anti-inflammatory benefits, and skin regeneration.

Benefits for the Skin:

• Oleic Acid: Deeply moisturises and nourishes the skin, improving softness and elasticity.
• Linoleic Acid: Reduces inflammation, strengthens the skin’s barrier, and promotes healing.
• Linolenic Acid: Provides anti-inflammatory benefits and supports skin regeneration.

CASTOR OIL

Castor oil is unique due to its high content of Ricinoleic Acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that provides remarkable skin benefits. This oil also contains Oleic Acid and Linoleic Acid, which contribute to its moisturising and anti-inflammatory properties.

Benefits for the Skin:

• Ricinoleic Acid: Offers strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, making it beneficial for acne-prone and sensitive skin.
• Oleic Acid: Deeply moisturises and nourishes the skin, improving softness and elasticity.
• Linoleic Acid: Strengthens the skin’s barrier, reduces inflammation, and promotes healing.
