Q&A
What does olive oil & shea butter do? They're both rich in oleic acid, vitamin E and antioxidants. Together they deeply condition, soften, and protect the skin's natural moisture barrier.
Is this soap suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. It's made with 100% naturual, gentle, plant-based ingredients and no synthetic fragrance or colourants.
Why Australian kaolin clay? It's ultra-mild and skin softening. It makes this bar kind enough for everyday use on all skin types.
What's glycerine? It's a natural byproduct of cold-process soapmaking. It's an amazing skin-loving humectant that draws moisture to the skin, maintains its natural barrier and leaves it feeling soft. It's one of the reasons cold-process soap feels so different on the skin compared to commercial soaps where the glycerine is removed and sold off separately. Because it's so effective at attracting moisture from the environment, it's also the reason why you should keep your soap high and dry, in a well-draining soap dish between uses.

A Little Note
This one's a bit special. Orange Blossom is part of my Spring Soap Collection — just three seasonal soaps made to celebrate the warmer months ahead. I make them in small batches, by hand, and once they sell out, that's it for the season. No restocks, no rain checks — just a little something lovely while it lasts.🌸

Tea Tree Oil Benefits: Why this Australian Essential Oil Has Stood the Test of Time
If you’ve ever looked for a natural soap for oily or blemish-prone skin, you’ve probably come across tea tree oil. Native to Australia, tea tree oil has been valued for generations and is still one of the most popular essential oils used in natural skin care today. But what makes it so special? Let’s take a closer look at why tea tree oil continues to earn its place in handmade natural soap. What is tea tree oil? Tea tree oil is a pure essential oil that comes from the leaves of the Australian tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia). It has a fresh, clean scent and is well known for its natural cleansing and purifying properties. For many years, Australians have used tea tree oil as part of their everyday skin care. Today, it is found in soaps, cleansers, shampoos and skincare products around the world. What are the benefits of tea tree oil for your skin? Tea tree oil is popular because it offers several benefits, especially for people with oily or blemish-prone skin. Helps cleanse the skin Tea tree oil is naturally cleansing, making it a great choice for washing away dirt, excess oil and everyday build-up. After washing, your skin feels fresh and clean without feeling stripped. A favourite for blemish-prone skin Tea tree oil is widely used in products made for skin that is prone to breakouts. Research suggests it may help improve mild to moderate acne, which is one reason it has become a trusted ingredient in natural skin care. Supports a balanced complexion When excess oil builds up, pores can become blocked. Tea tree oil helps leave the skin feeling cleaner and more balanced, making it a popular choice for people with oily skin. Naturally refreshing One of the first things you’ll notice about tea tree oil is its crisp, fresh scent. It leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed after every wash. Why use tea tree oil in handmade soap? Not all soaps are created the same. At Medika Organics, our tea tree soap is made using the traditional cold process method. This gentle method creates a naturally glycerine-rich bar that cleanses while helping to maintain the skin’s natural moisture. Tea tree oil and activated charcoal Tea tree oil is often paired with activated charcoal because the two ingredients work beautifully together. Activated charcoal is valued for helping lift excess oil and impurities from the skin, while tea tree oil provides a fresh, purifying cleanse. Together, they make an excellent combination for oily and blemish-prone skin. Who is tea tree soap best for? Tea tree soap is a great choice for people who: - Have oily skin - Are prone to the occasional blemish - Prefer natural skin care - Enjoy fresh, clean essential oil scents If your skin is very dry or sensitive, you may prefer a richer soap made with ingredients such as goat milk or oatmeal. Why choose a handmade tea tree soap? Many commercial soaps rely on synthetic detergents, fragrances and fillers. Handmade natural soap is different. Small-batch cold process soap is made with carefully selected oils and butters that create a rich, creamy lather while naturally producing glycerine during the soap-making process. This glycerine remains in the finished bar, helping the soap feel gentle and moisturising. When you choose Medika Organics handmade tea tree soap, you’re choosing quality ingredients and traditional craftsmanship in every bar. Final thoughts Tea tree oil has remained one of Australia’s most trusted natural ingredients for good reason. Its naturally cleansing and purifying properties, fresh scent and suitability for oily and blemish-prone skin have made it a favourite for generations. If you’re looking for a fresh, natural way to cleanse your skin, a handmade tea tree soap is a simple place to start. At Medika Organics, each bar is handcrafted in small batches using the traditional cold process method, quality oils and pure essential oils to create a soaps that are made to be enjoyed every day.
