Handmade Soap FAQ

Find answers about my handmade natural soap bars, ingredients, and how to get the best from your products.

Ingredients & Skin Safety

What ingredients are in your soaps and are they natural?

Yes — every bar is made with wholesome, natural ingredients you can actually pronounce. My soaps are crafted with nourishing oils (such as olive, coconut, and shea butter), grass-fed tallow, and botanical additions like clays, herbs, and essential oils. I never use synthetic fragrances, parabens, sulphates, or artificial colours. Full transparent ingredient lists are listed on each product page.

Are your soaps free from harsh chemicals?

Absolutely. I keep things simple and clean. My bars are cold-process made, which preserves the natural glycerin that commercial soaps often strip out. Glycerin is a humectant that draws moisture to the skin — so my soaps clean without leaving your skin feeling tight or dry.

Sensitive Skin & Tallow

Are your soaps suitable for sensitive or eczema-prone skin?

Many of my customers with sensitive, reactive, or eczema-prone skin have found real relief switching to my bars. Because I use gentle, natural ingredients and retain natural glycerin, there's far less to irritate the skin. I always recommend patch-testing a new bar on a small area first, and if you have a specific skin condition, checking with your healthcare provider.

What is tallow soap and why use it?

Tallow is rendered beef fat — and before you scroll past, hear me out! It has been used in skincare for centuries because its fatty acid profile is remarkably similar to our own skin's sebum. This means it absorbs beautifully, supports the skin barrier, and is deeply nourishing without feeling greasy. I source Australian grass-fed tallow, making it a natural, sustainable choice that your skin will love.

Are your soaps vegan?

Most of my soaps are plant-based and vegan except for my goat milk soaps and tallow-based soaps.

How Long Does a Bar Last & How to Use It

How long does a 130g bar typically last?

With proper care, a 130g bar lasts most people 2–3 weeks of daily use. The biggest factor is how you store it — a well-drained soap dish up away from the shower floor, that lets the bar dry between uses, will significantly extend its life.

How should I care for my soap bar to make it last longer?

Keep your bar dry between uses — this is the golden rule! Use a soap dish with drainage so water doesn't pool underneath. Keep it away from direct shower spray when not in use, and store unused bars in a cool, dry place. A little care goes a long way.

How do I use a natural soap bar?

Wet your hands or skin, lather the bar between your palms or directly on a washcloth, and apply to skin. Rinse thoroughly. That's it — no complicated routine needed. My soaps are gentle enough for face and body.
