What is triethyl citrate and why is it in the deodorant?  Triethyl citrate is a naturally derived ingredient (it comes from citric acid, the same stuff found in citrus fruit) that works by targeting the bacteria responsible for body odour. Rather than masking smell with fragrance, it goes to the source and stops odour from forming in the first place. It's gentle, well-tolerated by skin, and doesn't interfere with your body's natural sweating process.

Is triethyl citrate safe for sensitive skin?  Yes — it's one of the reasons this formula works so well for sensitive skin. It's free from the harsher odour-fighting ingredients (like bicarb soda) that can cause redness and irritation, and it has a very good safety profile. It does its job quietly, without upsetting the skin.

What does zinc ricinoleate actually do?  Think of it as an odour trap. Zinc ricinoleate is derived from castor oil and works by physically absorbing and locking in odour molecules before they can be detected.
