What's glycerine? It's a natural by-product of cold-process soapmaking. It's an amazing skin-loving humectant that draws moisture to the skin, maintains its natural barrier and leaves it feeling soft. It's one of the reasons cold-process soap feels so different on the skin compared to commercial soaps where the glycerine is removed and sold off separately. Because glycerine is so effective at attracting moisture from the environment, it's also the reason why you should keep your soap high and dry, in a well-draining soap dish between uses.
